My Writing Life – Positive Strength With Prioritized List and Unique Planner
Getting up at 4:30 (this morning – Jan 4th, 2016) and thinking about this past year…
Please Note: This is not a pitty party post, but facts and experiences that took place that I learned from immensely. 😉
2015 had found me trying to find the time to freelance write blog posts, (mine and my client’s), post updates to my social networks, answer queries and questions in my inboxes, strategically planning for my affiliate programs, and finally, my ultimate goal and priority – (writing my eBook) This all sent me reeling; I was spiraling fast. Granted, these are all prime issues all bloggers, writers, and internet marketers face every day. However, I nearly lost my sanity trying to keep up with it all giving what’s happened in our family and business lives throughout this last year.
I literally picked myself up and dusted off all demotivation and began again way too many times to count; only to find yet another obstacle that challenged me.
As a result, I found myself demotivated day in and day out. Each time I would start to feel encouraged and somewhat enlightened with determination; something else would get slapped in my face. And, these were hard slaps in the face and not your everyday misfortunes; such as locking your keys in your car, losing your wallet, or perhaps a stolen credit card, etc.
It all started with my father ending up in the ER right before Christmas back in 2014. Well, most of you know that my dad passed in early February of 2015. Toward the end, we spent quite a few hours at the nursing home, and that is where he took his last breath.
In the arms of the angel / Fly away from here / From this dark, cold hotel room / And the endlessness that you fear
Lyrics By Sarah McLachlan
If you followed my social networking posts, you would see that I rose above that ordeal; of course, as painful as it was. You can read and get the gist of that Here.
If that weren’t enough to totally do me in for the entire year itself, the mighty list kept coming my/our way. Now, of course, I’m aware that I, (or we) are not the only souls on this planet to experience a loss such as this.
I’m guessing that God has been testing me/us due to what followed. I’m not going to formally go through every detail of the whole year. I’m not going to bore you or burden you with all that; although, I will give you the short version of a beginning and ending of 2015.
* Dad’s passing
* A life-changing job adjustment for my spouse
* Helping my sister out of an unfortunate situation
* Losing my best friend — my cat Jesse
* Drastic drop in my online income
* I won’t name everything here, however, the exhausting string of events kept happening through… (of course needing to keep a few things private).
* Getting my Mother-In-Law settled in assisted living, (still going through some red tape with that one). AND…
* Finally, losing a dear cousin of ours right before Christmas.
So….out of all this (maybe useless with that said – therapeutic for me), rambling, I have risen above it all coming out ahead with hope, determination and excitement for new income for the “prospect of a shiny new year!”
I’m thankful for my writing client; he certainly helps keep food on our table…AND, my new online venture, of course – Avon — decision came on a sudden spur of the moment. It honestly did…I wanted something DIFFERENT, something that would motivate me…really motivate me! 🙂
1 Corinthians 10:13 KJV
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
2015 was a bit of a blur, now that I look back on it. I did some celebrating on New Year’s Eve. And yes, vodka was involved. I kept telling myself that I was going to celebrate with seeing the (good riddance) of last year out and seeing 2016 in. The next day hit me pretty hard…ya know, you play, you pay! LOL
Just for that, I have something worth sharing to offer you. It’s about some fun and motivational planning, both professionally and personally. 🙂
I’ve invested in many planners in the past, however, this one I’m about to share with you, (by far) tops all of them. I love it! It’s generously filled with useful gems to keep you on track all year long. They include words of wisdom, quotes, and prioritized, personal effects to help keep you motivated and organized. I’ve not seen a planner that offers so many unique benefits.
Yes, There’s An App For That
Of course, there’s an app for everything now right? Well, I find this physical planner TAKES THE CAKE. It gives new meaning to planning for your business and various other planning trends. The thing is…I like it, and I know you will too!
It Fits Well With Marketing
With every feature this planner has, it goes along with strategically planning your business, day after day….week after week and month after month. It keeps you on track with your online business. And surprisingly, it also keeps you on track PERSONALLY too with fun little quotes throughout the whole book. How cool is that?
Some WORDS Of Wisdom
The planner begins with a “Look Back On 2015.” You have to do the comparisons when marketing your business to realize just where you are. Then do MORE of what’s working and do LESS of what’s not working. Of course, it’s typical, but smart marketing.
Choosing Priorities For Each Month
Intensions For The Week
Prioritizing My Goals
Are Business Planners a Waste Of Time?
Some people do think this. However, I do not. They keep me tracked, unless more things happen to distract me again. Well….I’ll just have to actually grow up and deal with things as they come. 😉
Some Cool Quotes About Growing Older

“Some guy said to me: Don’t you think you’re too old to sing rock n’ roll?
I said: You’d better check with Mick Jagger.”
